  7. The Rimfire 5610 includes a high-performance, single-ended or differential
  8. 32-bit EISA SCSI-2 adapter, SCSI driver software, utility software,
  9. installation manuals, and SCSI cable
  10.  
  11. An onboard microprocessor offloads the host CPU. A 16-bit Wide, Fast SCSI-2
  12. chip minimizes SCSI protocol overhead. Dual-ported SRAM, which holds SCSI
  13. commands and scatter/gather tables, further reduces adapter overhead. The UNIX
  14. driver provides optimal algorithms for maximizing disk throughput through
  15. read-ahead caching, and command sorting and combining. The adapter supports bus
  16. master DMA at transfer rates to 33 MB per second. Multithreading and
  17. multitasking allow simultaneous processing of multiple requests. Both initiator
  18. and target modes are supported. The adapter provides SCSI data transfers up to
  19. 20 MB per second and supports SCSI disconnect and reselect. A floppy port
  20. provides compatibility with 3.5-inch and 5.25-inch drives.
